Some of my views on the ethics of kink

A continuation of 30 days of kink

Day 11: What are your views on the ethics of kink?

For me, the key ethics of kink are about developing open communication, sensitivity to your partner, trust, and intimacy. You gain a greater understanding of their anatomy & physiology at many layers. You learn to connect with how their mind works. Enhance what turns them on, and what turns you on. You learn the various ways of releasing endorphins and other feel good chemicals. You’re more conscious of their boundaries. There is a greater level of trust required.

By making the decision to be more open about your kink, the people I meet tend to be more balanced human beings, with fewer barriers and inhibitions. This helps them be more open, more honest, more respectful of others.

Yes, there are a lot of people in the scene with a troubled past, just as there are outside of the scene.

But if a book like 50 Shades can sell more copies worldwide than the Bible, there are clearly a lot of people keen to experience or learn more about these aspects of their sexuality. I’m really glad to already be a part of the kink scene.
