A continuation of 30 days of kink
Day 26: What’s your opinion on online BDSM play?
It’s something I used to do (between real meetings in person), but it’s not something I do so much anymore.
Back in the days of IRC chatrooms, I’d be providing self-bondage and masturbation direction for people I’d get to know remotely (with various release and safety people of course as applicable).
A little later than that, I’d occasionally webcam with people I knew. In particular now that I think back, it was predominantly them enjoying doing solo-shows for me, and they would welcome remote instruction as to what I’d like them to do next.
There would be the various real-time messenger conversations I would have with play partners for the weeks between meeting up. Effectively this would be a great deal of pillow talk and live fantasy story telling over the period of an evening or late night, with themes, details and keywords I knew they enjoyed, while they’d be touching themselves. That was a lot of fun.
This was back when compatible play partners were at least a 3+ hours travel each way, and so we’d only be able to arrange to meet up for a weekend of fun in person, once a month or so.
Fortunately more recently, I see people I’m intimate with far more often in person. So I don’t really ‘play’ online as much anymore.
Sexting as a form of foreplay (in the hours or days before the next planned intimate time) I still find is a great form of buildup and simmering of arousal.
Similarly I still enjoy giving masturbation instructions / details for when I’m not around (by text, email, phone, etc.)
For the future, I’ve been working on designing various elements of an interactive kink suite, so that kinksters can control or receive digital instruction directly, to control real-world toys and physical stimulation with a great deal of feedback. I’m keen to see how that develops. So far, the feedback on design ideas has been very positive!
